Wins for BB&O U14's versus Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire

The 2018 season got off to a great start with wins against both Bedfordshire and Hertfortshire.  This was our 2018 home match in the league of four counties, and was played at Wexham Park in the South-East of the county.  The club hosted the fixture very well with excellent course and catering.

The boys put in some great performances to record a win against Hertfordshire, the winners of the league for several years in a row.  We started well in the foursomes with a score of 3.5 - 0.5 at lunchtime and kept up the momentum in the singles with a 6-2 scoreline, having lost the opening first two matches.   If only the England cricket team's tail could bat as deep!   Bedfordshire fielded a very young team, giving debuts to several boys, and BB&O's older and more experienced team recorded a comfortable win.

The most exciting match was the opening morning foursomes against Hertfordshire, who were 3-up with three holes to play.  Ben McFadden and Peter Pan battled back to halve the match, finishing with a copybook birdie on the final hole.

Congratulations to Rio Mercer-Marsden, Peter Pan and Oliver Gouldby who represented BB&O for the first time.
